Polypropylene is a chemically inert polymer and does not contain any post reactor modifiers that can be extracted over time or have a negative impact on the surroundings. With Catalloy process technology, Polypropylene's molecular structure is modified to provide a product with specialized properties that meet the requirements of flexible geomembranes such as:
|
- Outstanding dimensional stability
- Low coefficient of expansion and contraction
- Wide temperature seaming range
- Good chemical resistance
- NO stress cracking

Polypropylene is available in an Industrial Grade Formulation (IG) or an ANSI/NSF-61 certified Potable Water Grade (WP). With Polypropylene's excellent UV stability, it is often specified and warranted in exposed applications.
Polypropylene is most commonly manufactured with a fully encapsulated, polyester reinforcing scrim, giving it superior dimensional stability and tensile strengths. Polypropylene is a thermoplastic material which permits seaming by thermal fusion methods including hot air, hot wedge and extrusion technologies.
