Hydraulic Mulch

Profile Products, LLC is our primary supplier of hydraulic mulch products that satisfy any jobsite requirement from a stabilized mulch matrix (SMM) product for gentle slopes all the way up the product pyramid to an extended term flexible growth medium (ET-FGM) product that performs at the highest levels demanded.

Terra-Matrix SMM Stabilized Mulch Matrix is specially formulated to provide cost-effective stabilization of soils on active construction and building sites. The pre-blended combination of Thermally-Refined® wood fibers, cross-linked tackifiers and activators anchor the fiber matrix to the soil surface. This hydraulically applied blanket prevents polymer leaching and is designed to stand up to multiple rainfall events.

Profile Products' Terra-Matrix was the product selected by California engineers to help revegetate the Griffith Park burn area in May 2007. http://www.estormwater.com/Stop-the-Soil-article9552 Applied by land and by air, Terra-Matrix posesses the performance characteristics neccessary to re-establish the native vegetation.

Hydro-Blanket BFM provides the best protection on steep slopes at the lowest overall cost in a quick, safe, easy hydraulic application. It is less expensive and faster to install than blankets or sod and more effective than blankets, competitive BFMs and conventional hydraulic mulches.

Extensive testing proves that Hydro-Blanket BFM controls erosion more completely than competitive BFMs on steep slopes subjected to heavy rains.

Testing conducted by the Texas Transportation Institute documented that straw and excelsior blankets lost an average of 50 times more soil than Flexterra (applied at 3,500 lb per acre) after three 20-minute repetitions at a rate of 3.5″ of rain per hour on 2H:1V sandy loam slopes. In fact, Flexterra (on 2H:1V slopes) dramatically outperformed straw and excelsior blankets tested on 3H:1V slopes under the same testing protocol. The ECB data used in the chart is reported in the ASAE Publication, “Comparisons of Field and Laboratory Experiment Test Results for Erosion Control Products” (Li, Landphair and McFalls 2003).

Based on independent testing at the Utah Water Research Laboratory: Flexterra application rate 3,000 lb/acre; five inches of rain per hour; one hour rainfall event; 2.5H:1V slope; sandy loam soil. Soil loss data extrapolated from one-acre test plot areas.

CocoFlex Extended Term - Flexible Growth Medium (ET-FGM) is designed with blended coconut and wood fibers, crimped interlocking man-made fibers and additives that are engineered to perform under extreme conditions.

CocoFlex ET-FGM provides superior protection for up to two years, making it the highest performing, longest-lasting hydraulically applied erosion control product on the market. It requires no cure time and provides superior slope protection over rolled Erosion Control Blanket (ECB) and Bonded Fiber Matrix (BFM) products. CocoFlex is an ideal consideration for semi-arid areas and sites where vegetation establishment may be delayed due to harsh conditions. In addition, it can be combined with other erosion control technologies to accommodate a broad range of conditions.
