Hypalon®

Hypalon® is a chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSPE)-based synthetic rubber developed by DuPont in the early 1950's. There are various Hypalon® elastomer types which are utilized in coatings, industrial cable, inflatable recreational crafts, single-ply roofing and geomembranes. Hypalon® was introduced in the early 1960's and has been widely used in the geosynthetic industry as liners, caps and floating covers.

Hypalon® Geomembranes exhibit thermoplastic qualities during processing and field installation, which permits seaming by chemical or thermal fusion methods. As the membrane is exposed to UV, weather and the elements, it slowly cures into a vulcanized membrane, exhibiting a higher tensile strength - simply put, Hypalon® gets stonger with time.

Hypalon® is most-commonly specified in the following industries:

Potable Water Reservoirs

Mining Solution Ponds

Wastewater Lagoons

Fish Hatcheries
